A tasty low carb strawberry donut recipe! 🍓

Ingredients for the Donuts:
2 cups of almond flour (available here)
• 1/2 cup sweetener (available here)
• 2 tbsp. tbsp unflavored protein powder (available here)
• 2 tbsp. teaspoon baking powder
• 1 box of Simply Delish with strawberries (available here)
• 1/2 cup softened butter
• 2 oz softened cream cheese
• 1/4 cup 14% sour cream or 10% Mediterranean yogurt
• 1 1/2 tsp. teaspoon vanilla extract
• 10 fresh or frozen strawberries
• 2 tbsp. teaspoon lemon juice
• 2 tbsp. teaspoon of water
• 2 egg whites

Method :
Preheat oven to 350°F. Butter a 12-cavity donut mold (or two 6-cavity molds) and set aside. In the bowl of the food processor, add and mix well the almond flour, baking powder, protein powder and your packet of Simply Delish with strawberries. To book. Using a blender, puree the strawberries with the lemon juice and water. Reserve again. In a microwave-safe container, melt the cream cheese and butter alternately for 30 seconds to avoid burning the cheese. Mix well. Add the vanilla extract, sour cream and sweetener, mixing again. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients in the food processor and pulse until very well combined. Then add the strawberry puree. Once combined, beat in the egg whites until smooth. Use a pastry bag without a tip to garnish your donut mold(s). Bake for about 12 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool completely before unmolding the donuts. ( otherwise the donuts will collapse )

Ingredients for the Frosting:
• 4 fresh or frozen strawberries
• 2 tbsp. tablespoon of sweetener (available here)
• 2 tbsp. tablespoons of 35% cream or unsweetened coconut cream (available here)

Method :
In a blender, puree the strawberries with the sweetener. Add the 35% cream or coconut cream while mixing again. Pour this mixture evenly over the previously unmolded and cooled donuts. Good tasting! 🍓

Makes 12 donuts.
